HUG - Agenda Covid long 

Long Covid refers to the persistent symptoms that affect some individuals after an infection with SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for Covid-19. These symptoms can last for several months after the acute phase of the illness. According to a study conducted by the University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG), symptoms can persist between 7 to 9 months after the initial diagnosis. The most common symptoms include loss of taste or smell, severe fatigue, headaches, persistent cough, and breathing difficulties.

A specific medical consultation for patients suffering from these symptoms was established as part of the study and is now open to the general public. Patients can schedule an appointment for this consultation in coordination with their primary care physician.

The consultations are provided by a doctor from the General Internal Medicine Department, who monitors the patient in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors from several HUG departments. This approach allows for comprehensive management of Long Covid symptoms, offering personalized follow-up care.
