What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a holistic manual medicine used to treat functional disorders. By using the hands, the body's remarkable self-healing abilities are activated to restore health.

How does Osteopathy work?

The principle of osteopathy states that all areas of the body influence each other. The key to proper function is the unrestricted mobility of all body elements. If natural movement is restricted in one area, the body tries to adapt for as long as possible to maintain function. When it can no longer compensate, discomfort or pain arises.

These long-term adaptations are often the reason why symptoms do not always correspond to the actual source of the problem. The goal of osteopathic treatment is to identify the underlying blockage and restore the body to a tension-free state. The free mobility of tissues, joints, organs, and fluids enables the body to regain health.

Limits of Osteopathy

Acute diseases, chronic illnesses, and psychological crises are not within the primary scope of an osteopath. However, as a complementary approach to conventional medical care, osteopathy can support healing and enhance well-being.
