Dr. Arthur Hammer is an experienced and dedicated Ophthalmic Surgeon specialising in cornea, external eye diseases and refractive surgery.
He obtained his medical degree from the University of Geneva in 2012. Subsequently, he pursued a MD-PhD in cornea and refractive surgery and later obtained the Swiss Speciality Diplomas in Ophthalmology and Ophthalmic Surgery.
His services have been rendered across various NHS Trusts in the United Kingdom, particularly at the prestigious Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, where he served for 1.5 years as a respected Cataract fellow and then for 2 years as a Cornea and Refractive Surgery fellow.
Dr. Hammer holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery (distinction) from Ulster University of Northern Ireland and has been awarded the Certificate in Laser and Refractive Surgery by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of the United Kingdom.
Dr Hammer also holds the FEBOS-CR subspecialty specialist diploma of EBO/ESCRS in cataract and refractive surgery and is now a FEBOS-CR alumni member.
With extensive expertise, Dr. Hammer is proficient in a range of advanced corneal, refractive, and cataract procedures. He has been honored with multiple prestigious awards in the field and remains actively engaged in medical research, striving to enhance surgical techniques and patient outcomes.
Having authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications, Dr. Hammer also plays a key role as a reviewer for the esteemed Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has participated in numerous advanced training courses and presented his research nationally and internationally at various esteemed medical conferences.
Dr Hammer worked as a cornea and refractive surgery specialist at Jules Gonin Eye Hospital in Lausanne, where he was involved in the medical and surgical training of ophthalmology trainee doctors.
Dr Hammer currently provides his ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery services at Montbenon Vision in Lausanne and works as a cornea, cataract and refractive surgery specialist for Swiss Visio / Swiss medical network.
