Dr. Hana Abouzeid

Dr. Hana Abouzeid specializes in ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery. She provides diagnosis and treatment for eye diseases, with expertise in cataract and glaucoma surgery.

After earning her medical degree in Geneva in 2001, she trained in ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins University (USA) and the Jules-Gonin Eye Hospital (Lausanne). She obtained her Swiss FMH and European EBO specialist titles in 2006 and later pursued surgical training as Chief Resident in Lausanne and at Harvard Medical and Business School. She introduced femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery at Jules-Gonin Hospital, where she founded and led the Cataract Unit.

Since 2015, she has been practicing at AZ Ophthalmology in Geneva, which she founded, and serves as a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Clinique La Prairie in Montreux. She is also an Associate Physician at HUG, where she teaches ophthalmology with a focus on glaucoma.
