Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Johanna Schneider supports children with motor, sensory, or cognitive difficulties to enhance their independence in daily activities. With a personalized approach, she works on developing essential skills for everyday life, school, and leisure activities.

Occupational therapists assist children and young people who experience limitations in their ability to perform daily activities due to sensory, motor, cognitive, or psychological challenges (whether congenital, developmental, or acquired) through the following measures:

• Facilitating and practicing age-appropriate skills: dressing, eating, cycling, writing, playing, etc.
• Stimulating sensory processing and perception: touch, body awareness, balance.
• Enhancing functional and activity-based training for both fine and gross motor skills.
• Teaching action-based strategies: focused attention, planning, and control.
• Supporting social and emotional skills development.
• Training visual, auditory, spatial, and memory-related abilities essential for daily activities.
• Advising on and adapting assistive devices, including custom-made splints.
• Providing guidance for parents and caregivers, as well as preventive support.
• Assisting with school and professional integration in collaboration with parents, schools, and social services.
