Background

Born and raised in Münchenstein BL. Medical studies at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Basel. Graduated in 1984 with a medical degree and doctorate in medicine.

Two years of surgical training in Lausanne and Basel, specializing at the University Women's Clinic Basel until 1992. Obtained specialist diploma in operative gynecology, followed by senior physician role in Langnau i.E.

Further specialization in internal medicine and psychosomatic medicine at the Department of Psychosocial Medicine, University of Zurich, with Prof. Dr. med. Buddeberg.

Father of three adult children, enjoys sports, music, and literature.
