Ms Karine Allaman 

In 2018, Karine adopted the name Mamah. She developed her own method of childbirth preparation and joined the Perinatal and Family Center. There, she collaborated with her colleague, midwife Carole Burdet, a breastfeeding consultant, to further develop childbirth preparation programs. She began offering her "Mamah" classes incorporating hypnosis at the Morges Hospital, returning to the maternity field where she had practiced during her early years as a midwife.

In parallel, Karine became actively involved in her profession and professional policy-making. As a member of the committee for independent midwives in Vaud, she served as vice-president for six years. In 2017, with the support of the committee and during a meeting with Mr. Pierre-Yves Maillard, Head of the Health Department of the Canton of Vaud, she secured a cantonal grant. This funding enabled the establishment of a permanent support system for independent midwives in Vaud. Today, this network includes over 200 midwives, ensuring that every day there is a midwife on duty across the eight regions of the canton, guaranteeing mothers access to midwifery care.
