DIZZINESS: A COMMON REASON FOR CONSULTATION

Rotational dizziness can result from a central lesion (a central cause should be suspected in elderly patients with cardiovascular risk factors, neurological deficits, or vertical nystagmus). However, it is most often due to dysfunction in a highly specialized and sophisticated neurosensory organ hidden within the temporal bone: the inner ear.

CAUSES OF HEARING LOSS

Hearing loss can have a wide variety of causes, including heredity, diseases of the auditory system, and, of course, noise and aging. Additionally, medications, smoking, and alcohol can also lead to hearing issues.
