Isabelle Giordano, BSc HES-SO
Dietician ASDD
I first practised my profession in several hospitals and private clinics in French-speaking Switzerland, before setting up my own private practice in Geneva more than 10 years ago. I attend short continuing education courses every year to keep my knowledge up to date or to perfect it.
I see adults and children for dietary advice, particularly in the following situations: overweight, treatment with Wegovy, diabetes, hypercholesterolaemia, fatty liver, high blood pressure, polycystic ovary syndrome, digestive disorders, pregnancy, nutrient deficiencies, malnutrition, stunted growth, etc.
My approach is as follows: after an initial assessment and evaluation stage, which may last one or two consultations, therapeutic lessons based on current recommendations are given and successive objectives are set with the person who comes to see me, with the aim of leading them towards a healthier lifestyle, better health and greater well-being. The objectives mainly concern diet and physical activity, but also stress management and sleep, as required. They are reassessed from consultation to consultation. Motivational support is also provided.
In cases where emotions have a major impact on food consumption or where there are eating disorders, I will advise the person to undergo specialised treatment with a psychotherapist at the same time as the dietetic treatment, for a greater chance of success and fulfilment.
I can consult in French and English, and I also offer video and telephone consultations.
Diet consultations are reimbursed by the LAMal if you have a prescription from a doctor. Please bring your prescription with you to your first appointment.
How to get to the medical center:
If you're coming by car, you can either park at the Balexert shopping center (1h free of charge), then cross the street, or access the parking lot at the foot of the building by taking Avenue de Jolimont and driving along the building from the rear. This is a pay-and-display parking lot and is subject to regular checks, so plan to pay for enough time.
If you're coming by TPG, take either bus 10 or 53 to the Pailly-Balexert stop, or streetcar 14 or 18 to the Bouchet or Balexert stops, then walk a little.
Access on foot is either from Avenue Louis-Casaï via a small pedestrian path followed by steps, or from Avenue de Jolimont, reaching the building from the rear.
Bicycle parking is also available at the foot of the building (access via Avenue de Jolimont).
