Their approach combines physical exercises, manual techniques, and sometimes equipment. A consultation with a physiotherapist often requires a medical prescription. The osteopath, on the other hand, takes a holistic approach and attempts to rebalance the entire body through manual manipulations, based on the principle that any disturbance in one area can affect the entire organism. They therefore treat a variety of conditions, which may include digestive disorders, without requiring a medical prescription. It should be noted, however, that osteopathy and physiotherapy are often complementary.

A typical physiotherapy session usually begins with a consultation in which the physiotherapist takes a comprehensive medical history of your state of health and your complaints. A personalised treatment plan is then developed based on your symptoms. This may include various approaches, including exercise training or massages. The physiotherapist will usually work with you to start performing the appropriate exercises and support you in doing so. A treatment lasts around 30 minutes on average. In addition to regular appointments to treat your complaints, you will probably also be given recommendations for exercises that you can carry out independently between appointments.
